يعدُّ ابنَ عبد البر أحد أبرز العلماء المسلمين الذين أَثْرَوا بمصنفاتهم المختلفة في المکتباتِ الإسلاميَّةَ، وفي مجالات متعدِّدة من العلوم؛ مثل: الحديث، والفقه، والسير، والآداب، والتراجم، وقد نالت هذه المصنَّفات الثَّناء من کثيرٍ من العلماء في عصره وبعده، ولمصنَّفاته مکانة عظيمة، فلا يکاد يخلو منها أيُّ کتاب مدرسي، أو مرجع علمي، أو بحث تاريخي أو منهجي؛ وذلک بسبب أصالة معلوماتها؛ لأنَّه يسير في منهجه وَفْق الکتاب والسُّنَّة في جميع مؤلَّفاته، ومنها: المجال التربوي.
فآراء ابن عبد البر لا يمکن الاستغناء عن الأخْذ بها في کثيرٍ من المجالات، سواء التربوية أو غير التربوية.
وهذا البحث تناول بعض الآراء التي قدَّمها ابن عبد البر، ومن ذلک آراؤه حول العلم وفضله وأقسامه، وشرف العلماء به، وآراؤه حول المعلِّم والمتعلم، وما ينبغي أن يتَّصفا به من أخلاق ومبادئ وآداب، وما الذي يجبُ عليهما نحو العلم، وآراؤه حول طرق التدريس، والوسائل التي ينبغي على المعلِّم القيام بها عندَ عمله بالتدريس، ويعدُّ ذلک أحَدَ الأسباب التي تُؤدِّي إلى سُرعة فهم المعلومات، وقد قسَّم العلم إلى قسمين: قسم واجب تعلُّمه؛ وهو العلم الذي يعرِّف الإنسان بخالقه، وقسم جائز؛ مثل: العلوم المفيدة للناس في سائر حياتهم، والتي لا يمکن الاستغناء عن معرفتها.
وقدَّم النُّصح للمعلم والمتعلم، أنْ يتحلَّى بالأخلاق الفاضلة عند طلب العلم؛ لأنَّ العلم يُلهَمُه السُّعداء ويُحرَمه الأشقياء، کما حثَّ المعلِّم أنْ يکون قدوةً لتلاميذه، وأنْ يکون مَرِنًا في تعامُلِه معهم، وألا يجعل من الدرس شبحًا مُنفِّرًا، بل عليه أنْ يُدخِلَ عاملَ التشويق إذا رأى من طلابه انصرافًا عن الدرس، ويرى أنَّ الاقتداء بالسلف أفضلُ مُؤثِّر لتقويم السلوک؛ مثل: الاقتداء بالرسل والصحابة، وأنَّ العوامل المؤثِّرة على السلوک متعددة منها عوامل إيجابية وأخرى سلبية، وتکون إمَّا بالوالدين أو الإِخوة أو المعلِّمين في المدرسة أو المجتمع، وأنَّ من الوسائل المؤثِّرة تأثيرًا مباشرًا هو الجليس أو القرين، ويرى أنَّ أفضل تأثير لتعديل السلوک هو التناصُح، والأمر بالمعروف، والنهي عن المنکر، ولکن على مَن يقوم بهذا العمل أنْ يبدأ بنفسه، ثم يقوم بتقويم غيره.
إنَّ ما قدَّمه ابن عبد البر من آراء تربوية ووضعه لأحد أهم نظريات التعلم الحديثة يدل على شدَّة حِرصه على طلب الخير؛ فهو يريد من المعلم والمتعلم أنْ يطلبوا العلم حبًّا في العلم وإخلاصًا له؛ حتى ينالوا الأجر والثواب من الله؛ لأنَّ العالِم والمتعلم في الأجر سواءٌ.

And advised the teacher and learner, to be virtuous ethics when seeking knowledge, because science inspired by the happy and deprived of the wise, as he urged the teacher to be an example of his disciples, and be flexible in dealing with them, and not make the lesson a ghost, but he must enter the factor of suspense if he sees And that the factors affecting the behavior are multiple, including positive and negative factors, and be either parents or brothers or teachers in the school or community, and the impact on the behavior of the students, That one of the most influential means directly or indirectly is the person or the quran. He believes that the best effect of modifying behavior is to advise, to enjoin good and to forbid evil, but to do this work and start evaluating others.
